Back in October, I worked with a fabulous full-service event planning company called Rebecca Rose Events to provide make-up for a Fall editorial shoot. This photoshoot was an amazing experience for me because of the beautiful people and breathtaking views that I was surrounded by. It is such a good feeling to do what you love, but getting to work with the some of the best professionals in your field just boosts your game to the next level. Not only did I have the chance to see Rebecca in action creating perfectly styled decor and table-scapes but I also was able to work with some of my best friends and fellow makeup artists, Jenny Le and Nou Yang. It was an honor to work alongside the extremely talented husband and wife photography duo of Archetype Studio and the stunning Candace Current who braved freezing temperatures and surging wind gusts on a mountaintop cliff. (She was basically killing it and made the rest of us look like a bunch of whimps bundled up in our coats and scarves while she posed in a sleeveless wedding dress!)
The location was set at the Twickenham House in Jefferson, NC (which is just outside of Boone). This beautiful estate is nestled at the top of a mountain, surrounded by lush green grounds, rustic mountainside rocks and the mostly idyllic fall leaves you can imagine. After making the treturous drive up the tiny, winding dirt road to reach the top it was like arriving on the set of a movie. Some of the table-top photos had already been taken and it was like looking on at a party with fall berries dripping all around the table and glasses of bubbly fizzing excitedly.
For the look, Rebecca had requested a natural face with soft contouring and a cranberry lip. This look perfectly complemented the decor and made everything come together. I am so excited to share these photos with everyone and even though Spring is just around the corner, these images make me nostalgic for all the things we love about Fall.
